You do not normally need a UK ETA if you are a British or Irish citizen, already have a UK visa, or have permission to live, work or study in the UK.

How long does a UK ETA last?
A UK ETA is linked to the passport used for the application and normally remains valid for 2 years, or until that passport expires, whichever comes first.
An ETA does not guarantee entry to the UK. Border entry requirements still apply.

A UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is a digital permission to travel to the United Kingdom for eligible visitors. It is linked electronically to the passport used for the application.
How long does a UK ETA last?
A UK ETA normally lasts for 2 years or until the passport used for the application expires, whichever comes first. You can make multiple journeys while it remains valid.
How long does a UK ETA decision take?
UKVI usually sends a decision by email within a day, but applicants should allow up to 3 working days. Another website or application service cannot obtain a faster UK Government decision.
What do I need to apply?
You will normally need the passport you will travel with, an email address, a payment method, a passport image and a facial photograph.
Can I apply for someone else?
Yes. An application can be completed for another traveller, including a child. Each traveller needs their own ETA.
